Loving God by being Christ followers who make Christ followers of all nations.

Welcome to Followers

Before society labeled them “Christians,” believers of Jesus called themselves “Followers of the Way.” This name wasn’t just a title, but symbolized an extraordinary new way of life. Unlike anything the world had ever seen, men and women, old and young, rich and poor, healthy and sick, locals and foreigners all flocked to Jesus, as He revealed the way to enjoy relationship with God and discover the purposeful life all humans are created for. Jesus’ first disciples were simple fishermen who even left behind the biggest catch of their lives to follow Him. Something about Jesus made the cost seem small. Today, we still believe that Jesus Christ is worth following fully and desire to give our whole lives to love and introduce Him to others.

Come, follow me, Jesus said, and I will send you out to fish for people. At once they left their nets and followed him.
— Matthew 4:19-20

Our Core Values

  • Although the term evangelical carries various meanings today, it originates from the Greek word euangélion, meaning “gospel” or “good news.” At its heart, the gospel proclaims salvation by grace through faith in Jesus Christ alone. As Evangelicals, we are committed to teaching and obeying this good news with steadfast courage and joy.

    1 Cor 15:1-8, 2 Tim. 1:13-14, 2 Tim. 4:2-4, Titus 1:9, John 17:14-17

  • The church is a family for the lonely, a community of healing for the hurt, and a place of biblical instruction for the humble. Above all, it is marked by the fragrance of Christ. Because Jesus gave His life to forgive our sins, we are free to sacrificially serve one another with the same love we have received from God. In doing so, we cultivate an inviting gospel-environment where others can come to know and grow in Christ.

    Matt. 20:26-28, John 13:1-17, John 13:34-35, Eph. 4:31-32, Col 3:1-17

  • Anselm’s phrase "faith seeking understanding" captures the heart of what theology is about. More than a list of doctrines or academic exercise, theology is a joyful journey of faith-fueled learning. Our intellectual pursuit to know the triune God more deeply reflects our love for Him and desire to obey His word. For this reason, good theology brings spiritual formation for practical service, shaping the whole person – head, heart, and hands.

    Psalm 119:9-16, Prov. 2:1-10, Jer. 9:23-24, Jer. 15:16, John 17:13, John 15:10-11

  • God is the true Shepherd of the Church and Lord of all peoples throughout the world. In prayer, we humbly and boldly align our hearts with His sovereign will, resting in the strength, safety, and comfort of His care until Christ’s return.

    Matt. 6:9-13, Eph. 6:18-20, Phil. 4:6-7, Matt. 26:41, John 17:20-26

  • All Scripture points to Jesus and invites us to believe and mature in Him by faith. To better understand and engage with the Bible as a unified story and message, we practice expository preaching. That is, we study the original meaning and relevant application of biblical books verse-by-verse.

    2 Tim. 3:16-17, John 5:39, Acts 8:26-35, Matt. 4:4, Psalm 119:160

  • Our desire is not to creatively rethink Church for today, but to stand on the shoulders of faithful Christ-followers of the past and relevantly participate in a movement much larger than ourselves. In doing so, we honor and join in the life of the early church, staying true to our shared gospel mission.
